Last Thursday, the Perry County Central Commodores got an early start on the baseball season. The Commodores traveled to Harlan to take on the Green Dragons.
The Commodores all but won the game in the first inning as they pushed 10 runs across the plate. The Green Dragon managed a single run in the bottom of the frame (10-1).
Neither team scored in the second inning, but Perry Central was able to trade two runs for three in the third inning, giving them the 13-3 lead. The trading continued in the fourth inning as the Commodores went ahead 14-4.
The Commodores tipped the scales in their advantage in the fifth inning as they went up 16-4. The Green Dragons were unable to find the plate in the bottom of the inning, ending the game with a 16-4 opening win for Perry Central.
