Last week, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs hosted the Perry County Central Lady Commodores. The Lady Commodores used a powerful offense to settle the matter early with a 10-0 score.
Perry Central hit the ball well in the opening frame, but the Hazard gloves were able to neutralize their effectiveness. The Lady Commodores also used their gloves to limit the Lady Bulldogs in the bottom of the inning.
The Lady Commodores’ bats heated up in the second inning as they put together a strong rally. Perry Central had touched the dish five times before the third out was recorded (5-0).
Neither team would put any runs on the board in the third inning, while Perry Central tacked on a pair in the fourth inning (7-0). The Lady Commodores rounded out their scoring with three runs in the sixth inning, bringing the game to an end (10-0).
Lauryn Amburgey got the win for Perry Central, going six innings with only 1 hit and 5 strikeouts. On the other side, Chandler Maggard collected 4 strikeouts. Neither pitcher allowed a base on balls.
