Bulldogs roll into finals with big win in semis

The Hazard Bulldogs took on the Buckhorn Wildcats in the semifinals of the 14th region All “A” baseball tournament. The Bulldogs started slowly, but picked up the momentum as the game wore on. They were helped in the effort by a shutout performance on the mound by Devin Morris.

The Bulldogs eeked out a 1-0 lead through the first two innings. However, a seven run barrage (8-0) in the third inning picked up the offense. The rally took off after a solo home run by Griffin Wells.

Hazard closed the books on Buckhorn in the fourth inning with a 5 run rally that netted them the 13-0 lead. The Wildcats were unable to find the plate in the top half of the fifth inning, bringing the game to a halt.

Devin Morris threw the shutout and picked up the win. Morris logged five innings on the mound with 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk and 12 strikeouts.
