Last week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores hit the road for South Floyd where they took on the Lady Raiders. The Lady Commodores took the early lead and held off a strong effort by the Lady Raider to record the 10-6 win.
The first runs of the game went on the Lady Commodore side of the board as they posted two runs in the second inning. By the time the Perry Central half of the third inning was over, the scoreboard recorded an 8-0 advantage for the Lady Commodores.
South Floyd began to pick up some runs in the bottom of the third inning. An inning which saw the Lady Raiders make a small dent in the lead (8-1).
The Lady Raider continued to dominate play through the sixth inning. South Floyd tightened the score at 8-6 by the time the frame was over. Perry Central crossed the plate twice in the seventh inning, giving them the 10-6 win.
Lauren Amburgey got the win on the mound, going 7 innings with 3 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks and 11 strikeouts.
