Late this week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Hyden to take on the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Lady Commodores fell behind early, and struggled to make up the difference. In the end, they were unable to catch the high flying Lady Eagles.
Perry Central started the game with a single run, but gave Leslie County a trio of runs in the bottom of the inning (1-3). The Lady Commodores tied the game in the top half of the second inning, but faltered once again, giving Leslie County four runs in the bottom half (3-7).
The Lady Commodore then began a long comeback run, eventually taking the 8-7 lead in the top half of the fifth inning. However, the Lady Eagles countered with four run in the bottom of the frame, giving them the 11-8 lead.
Perry Central would only muster one run down the stretch, giving Leslie County the 11-9 win. Lauren Amburgey went the distance on the mound for the Lady Commodores, giving up 13 hits, 11 runs, 1 walk and 1 strikeout. The defense surrendered 8 errors in the game.
