On Saturday, the 11 year-old Hazard-Perry Coyotes took to the baseball diamond as part of the 4th of July tournament in the park. The Coyotes would take on a team from Jackson County.

The Coyotes would get on the board first with a single run in the top half of the first inning. Jackson County would not be able to reciprocate in the bottom portion, giving Hazard-Perry the 1-0 lead.

All was quiet in the second inning as neither team was able to find the plate. However, Hazard-Perry would go back to work in the third inning.

The Coyotes would push six runs across the plate in the third inning, putting them on top 7-0. The Coyotes shut down the Jackson County offense in the bottom of the frame, leaving them with the 7-0 lead still in tack. Due to time constrains, the game was called at this point.
