Hazard takes down Jackson City

Last week, the Hazard Bulldogs met the Jackson City Tigers on the baseball diamond. The Bulldogs took the upper hand early in the contest, and cruised to the 6-1 victory.

Hazard picked up their first run in the second inning (1-0), and slowly began to pull away. By the end of the third inning, the Bulldogs were up 3-0.

Jackson City got their first and only run of the contest in the top half of the fourth inning (3-1). However, Hazard would quickly erase it with a two spot in the bottom of the frame (5-1).

The only other score in game came in the fifth inning as the Bulldogs set the final score at 6-1. Blake Nidiffer got the win on the mound for Hazard, going three innings with 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and 2 strikeouts. Andy Baker finished the game (4 innings) with 4 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Hazard (6) Ryan Smith 1 run and 3 hits, Andy Baker 1 hit, Rudy Akemon 1 hit and 2 RBI, Devin Morris 1 hit, Blake Nidiffer 2 runs and 2 hits, Kyle Johnson 1 run and 1 hit, Chase Ford 1 run, 2 hits and 3 RBI, Dalton Baker 1 hit, and Trajon Campbell 1 run.
