Late last week, the Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Pikeville to take on the Panthers in high school baseball action. The game was a low scoring affair, with the Bulldogs falling to the Panthers 1-2.

The game stayed knotted at zero for the first five innings. The Panthers then drew first blood with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Hazard was able to put together a small rally in the seventh inning, but it would not be enough as the run was cut short. The Bulldogs fell in the contest by the final count of 1-2.

Devin Morris put together an excellent effort on the mound, but unfortunately came away with the loss. Morris went 5.67 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Ryan Smith came in late and finished off the final inning (1 strikeout).

Hazard (1) Griffin Wells 1 hit, Ryan Smith 1 hit, Cole Ratliff 1 run and 1 hit, Rudy Akemon 1 hit and Blake Lockhart 1 hit.
