Early last week, the Perry County Central Commodores brought the Lee County Bobcats on to the new Commodore field. The Commodores used an explosive offense to throw the Bobcats off track, and came away with the 18-1 win in just five innings.
Lee County opened the game with the first run, taking the 1-0 lead in the top half of the first. However, Perry Central would respond with a strong eight run showing in the bottom of the frame (8-1).
The Commodores did not let up in the second inning. This time Perry Central was good for 10 runs, bumping their lead to 18-1.
The Commodores were content with the lead, and went immediately to their bench. The Perry Central reserves had one mission, and that was to keep the Bobcats off the board. They were more than up to the task, and the game ended with Perry Central taking the 18-1 win in five innings.
The win on this day would go to Ryan Couch.
