On Saturday, the Perry County Central softball team traveled to Hindman to take on the Lady Patriots of Knott County. The Lady Commodores fell behind early, and needed to rally late to pull out the win.
Knott County surprised Perry Central in the opening frame, knocking the Lady Commodores around, and scoring three runs (3-0). The Lady Commodores would get a rally going in the third inning, and drew to within a run at 2-3.
However, the excitement would not last long as the Lady Patriots erased one of the runs in the bottom of the inning (2-4). Perry Central would not visit the plate until late in the game when they managed to pull two runs across the plate with two outs already on the board (4-4).
The Lady Commodores went to work once again in the seventh inning, and broke the tie with a single run (5-4). The defense stepped up, sitting Knott County down in order in the bottom of the seventh, giving Perry Central the 5-4 win.
