Commodores derail Engineers

By Tony McGuire - [email protected]

Last week, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Estill County Engineers. The Commodores put together a strong offensive and defensive game, but faltered near the end, allowing Estill County to break up the shutout (6-2).

Perry Central struck first with three runs in the third inning (3-0). The Commodores did not strike again until the fifth inning when they crossed the plate once (4-0).

The defense continued to shutout the Engineers into the sixth inning, while the Commodores added a pair of insurance runs (6-0). Perry Central, however, would not be perfect on the night as they allowed Estill County to score twice in their last at bat, erasing the shutout (6-2).

Perry Central (6) Evan Hurt 2 runs and 2 hits, Dylan Fields 1 run, 3 hits and 1 RBI, Braxton Cottongame 1 run and 1 hit, Ronnie Long 1 run, 1 hit and 1 RBI, Brody Dixon 1 hit and 2 RBI, Kameron Conely 1 hit and 1 RBI, Ryan Couch 1 hit and Anthony Hughes 1 run.
