Lady Commodores fall in extra inning duel

The Perry County Central Lady Commodores hooked up with the Leslie County Lady Eagles in the championship game of the 54th district softball tournament. The Lady Commodores lost by two runs in each of the regular season meetings with the Lady Eagles.

This game turned into a real defensive battle as neither team could get near the plate. At the end of regulation, the game was still tied at zero.

Perry Central was unable to do anything with their half of the eighth inning. Leslie County managed to get a base runner aboard, and a single swing of the bat ended the game as the Lady Eagles’ Hubbard hit a home run to end the game 2-0.

Perry Central (0) Mahala Walker 1 hit, Lauryn Amburgey 1 hit and Kamryn Noe 1 hit. Lauryn Amburgey 7.1 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.

Leslie Co. (2) M. Combs 1 hit, M. Pugh 1 run and 1 hit, K. Hubbard 1 run, 2 hits and 2 RBI, and E. Griffith 1 hit.
