The Perry County Central Commodores took on the Letcher Central Cougars in the semifinals of the 14th region baseball tournament. The Commodores would trail for a great deal of the game, but came up with a hit late in the game to take the walk off win.
The Cougars got the game started with a trio of runs in the top of the first inning. Letcher Central then added another run in the third to give them the 4-0 lead.
Perry Central got get all the runs back in the bottom of the inning (4-all). Evan Hurt got the rally started (single), and was joined on base as Braxton Cottongame walked. Hurt came home on a Ronnie Long single while Cottomgame scored on a single by Brody Dixon. Dixon and Kameron Conley rounded out the rally as they both scored on a double by Ryan Couch.
The 4-all tie held until the seventh inning. Letcher Central scored the go ahead run (4-5) on a throwing error.
Perry Central quickly went to work in the bottom half of the inning. Braxton Cottongame (walk) and Ronnie Long (single) represented the go ahead runs.
Brody Dixon would deliver both to the plate with a double, giving Perry Central the 6-5 walk off win. Braxton Cottongame would collect the win on the mound.
