Lady Commodores season ends

Perry Central’s Laurynn Amburgey took the mound in the semifinals of the 14th region softball tournament. The Lady Commodores lost the game to Estill County 2-0.

The Perry County Central Lady Commodores took on the Estill County Lady Engineers in the semifinals of the 14th region softball tournament. The Lady Commodores have never defeated the Lady Engineers in the region tournament.

The game turned into quite the defensive struggle as both teams looked for ways to manufacture a run. Unfortunately, Perry Central was unable to manufacture a run with only one hit and two walks.

Estill County picked up a pair of runs with some timely hitting. The Lady Engineers got a run in the third and another in the fourth inning. It would be enough to give them the 2-0 win, ending Perry Central’s season.

Laurynn Amburgey threw six inning, with 8 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.

Perry Central (0) Lexi Haddix 1 hit.
