The 11-12 year old all-star softball team began post season play on Friday. The all-stars hosted this year’s event, and kicked things off with the Tri-City all-stars.

After a scoreless first inning, things began to heat up. However, it would not be for Hazard-Perry. Tri-City got their bats going in the second inning, and pushed four runs across the plate (0-4).

Hazard-Perry managed to cut the margin in half with a two run third inning, but quickly gave the runs back in the bottom of the frame (2-6). Things began to look grime in the fourth inning when Tri-City manufactured another two runs to take the 2-8 advantage.

Hazard-Perry exploded in the fifth inning with a strong rally. The local all-stars would not stop until they had completely erased their deficit, and held the 9-8 lead.

The remainder of the game would go without either team touching the dish. Hazard-Perry was able to continue in the winner’s bracket with the 9-8 win.

Hazard-Perry (9) Kailey Dixon 2 runs, Alexa Muha 1 run, Laci Davidson 1 hit and 1 run, Kim Hughes 1 hit and 1 run, Emily Blair 2 hits and 1 run, Morgan Cockrell 1 hit and 1 run and Justice White 2 runs.
