The Commodores will be looking for a quarterback this season, and the spot will probably be filled by Jacob Woolum.

The Perry County Central Commodores finished last season with a disappointing 2-8 record, and failed to make the playoffs. The Commodores underwent yet another coaching change last season as the revolving door of coaches continued.

This season, the Commodores will retain veteran coach Tom Larkey, who has returned Perry Central to old school football fundamentals. Coach Larkey will return a multitude of players who have experience with his system this season. Perry Central will return 13 juniors, 7 sophomores and 14 freshmen to the program.

However, the Commodores did loose a wealth of talent to graduation last year as Ben Watts, Jordan Combs, Kyle Cornett, Tyler Eldridge, Tanner Feltner, Tyler Johnson, Jackie Martin, Seth Napier, Garrett Sizemore, Dakota Smith, Jeremy Woolum and Tate Wyrick have moved on. These players made up the backbone of last year’s squad.

Perry Central will open the season August 21 at home with the Lynn Camp Wildcats.
