Wildcats look to improve on winless season

The Buckhorn Wildcat soccer team will look to improve on last year’s 0-13 season. The Wildcats scored but one goal last season while giving up 156 goals. However, it must be noted, that Buckhorn plays as a co-ed team that is comprised mostly of girls; and under KHSAA rules, they must play a boys’ schedule.

The Wildcats lost the majority of its boy players to graduation (Dakota Boardwine, Josh Crank and John Stidham). Due to the nature of soccer at the small school, next year’s roster would be a speculation as it has changed drastically over the past few years.

As of now, the Wildcats have but four games listed on the KHSAA website, two with Jackson City and two with Perry Central. Their first game with be with Jackson City on August 18 (Buckhorn plays no home games).
