On July 26th, six Perry County gymnasts from Studios Unlimited Tumbling/Trampoline traveled to Houston, Texas for a four day competition at the AAU Junior Olympics. The athletes represented the state of Kentucky during completion and opening ceremonies.

The group got to Houston on Wednesday, and participated in a team practice. On Thursday, the competition began, with each athlete having to go through the preliminaries to set up rankings for the finals.

The athletes brought home 12 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 Bronze. In the finals, they competed 16 times, and won 12 gold medals (ribbons were given for the preliminaries).
