After dropping a hard game to Somerset last week, the Hazard Bulldog football team looked to get back on track with a win over Prestonsburg. Despite giving up a touchdown on the opening kickoff, the Bulldogs were able to buckle down, and come away with the 41-6 victory.
Prestonsburg drew first blood, scoring on a long touchdown run on the opening kickoff. However, the rest of the first half would belong to Hazard.
Cory Smith scored a couple of touchdowns in the first half, while Kade Holland hauled in a 19-yard pass from Bailey Blair. The Bulldogs went into the locker room with the momentum, and a 20-6 lead.
The Blackcats had a couple of strong drives in the second half, but the Bulldog defense shut them down just shy of the end zone. Again, Cory Smith crossed the goal line twice in the half, with Trajan Campbell ending the game with a 1-yard run. Hazard went on to win the game by the final count of 41-6.
