Commodores roll past Engineers

Early last week, the Perry Central Commodore soccer team headed to Estill County to take on the Engineers. The Commodores took control of the game from the opening whistle, and cruised to the shutout win.

Perry Central started the game well, and just before the five minute mark, they had a goal. Jake Mullis was the recipient of a good pass at the top of the box, and promptly put it in the net for the 1-0 lead.

Cody Gayheart picked up the next goal for the Commodores. After breaking loose in the middle of the field, he got a strong shot on goal. The goalie hit the ball, but could not get enough on it to stop the score (2-0).

Just before the half, John Watts pushed the advantage to 3-0. Watts caught the goal out of position, and deposited a shot in an open net.

The Commodores cleared the bench for the second half, and was only able to improve the tally by one goal. Zack Miller used a quick turn in the box to find the goalie unprepared for the shot (4-0).

Chance Francis and Noah Summerset both took a half at goalie, and came away with the shutout. Perry Stats: Goals Cody Gayheart 1, Zack Miller 1, Jake Mullis 1 and John Watts 1. Assists: Cody Gayheart 1.
