On Saturday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodore volleyball team hosted their annual East Kentucky Mountain Classic. The Lady Commodores came up short in their own tournament, finishing 1-3 on the day.

Three of the four teams that the Lady Commodores faced were familiar foes. Perry Central opened the tournament with the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers. They would drop the match 2-0 (25-16 and 25-12).

Perry Central’s next game would be against the Breathitt County Lady Bobcats. Again, the Lady Commodores would fall 2-0 (25-18 and 25-17).

The Lady Commodores would finish off the tournament with county rival, the Buckhorn Lady Wildcats. The two teams split their regular season meetings.

In their final meeting before tournament play, Perry Central took control of the match early. The Lady Commodores went on to win 2-0 (25-15 and 25-17) to end the event 1-3.

The only unknown of the tournament for the Lady Commodores was the Piarist Lady Knights. The Lady Knights have been playing well of late, and handed the Lady Commodores the 2-0 loss (25-14 and 25-16).
