Last Tuesday, the Buckhorn Lady Wildcat volleyball team opened the 54th district tournament with the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Lady Wildcats started strong, but fell off the pace midway through the match and fell 0-3 to the Lady Eagles.

Things were nip-and-tuck in the first game, with Leslie County pulling away for the 25-19 win late. However, Buckhorn would not be able to recapture their form in game two, and dropped the set 25-7.

With the momentum squarely on Leslie County’s side in the third game, Buckhorn could do little to stop the inevitable, The Lady Wildcats went on to drop the game, and the match, by the final tally of 25-10.

The loss brought Buckhorn’s season to an end with a 4-26 record.
