On Saturday, the final spot in the 8th grade finals came down to the Viper Lady Hornets and the Robinson Lady Bluejays. The Lady Hornets held the edge early, but had to fend off several serious challenges by the Lady Bluejays before securing the win.
Viper started the game strong, and built a small lead before Robinson could get their feet under them. The Lady Hornets were able to hold on for the 12-9 lead at the first horn.
Scoring dropped off slightly in the second period, but the intensity remained the same. Going into the half, Viper was still in control 21-16.
Robinson came out of the break ready to play, and quickly made a game of it. The Lady Bluejays got to within a single bucket on a couple of occasions, and with six minutes left to play, Vipers lead was cut to three (32-29).

As time began to run out, Robinson was forced to put the Lady Hornets on the line. Viper was able to make good on enough shots to boost the final tally to 47-37, putting them in the finals.
