Perry needs to improve after scrimmage

The Perry County Central Commodore soccer team played its first and only scrimmage game of the preseason on Saturday. The Commodores traveled to Madison Southern where they played the Pulaski County Maroons.

The game was close throughout with neither team gaining a clear cut advantage. The Maroons got the late goal to give them the 2-1 win. The Commodores goal was scored by freshman Dylan Adams.

When asked about the game, Coach Lunsford remarked, “We should have won the game, but we just could not finish. We were able to get about 30 shots on their defense, while they only took four shots on ours.”

“We need to work on finishing our drives if we are going to be successful,” Coach Lunsford concluded.

The Commodores will take to the field next week, and will be looking to defend their 14th Region title.
