Late last week, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs traveled to Stanton to take on the Powell County Lady Pirates. The Lady Bulldogs used a steady offense and strong defense to easily hand the Lady Pirates the 58-36 loss.
The Lady Bulldogs opened the game by doubling up on the Lady Pirates 12-6. Hazard put another 12 points on the board in the second quarter, which was good enough to send them to the locker room with the 24-19 advantage.
Again, in the third period, Hazard posted 12 points on the scoreboard. This time, they held Powell County to just one field goal, lifting them to the 36-22 lead with one period to play.
The Lady Pirates put together their best quarter in the fourth, however, so did the Lady Bulldogs. Hazard was able to fend off any hopes of a comeback, and notched the 58-36 win.
