Last week, the Hazard Bulldogs participated in the Hyden Bank Christmas Classic. First up for the Bulldogs would be the Clay County Tigers.
The pace was furious out of the gate, with Clay County getting the best of the first round (22-19). The Tigers, however, cooled in the second period, while the Bulldogs continued to roll (37-29) into the half.
The rolls reversed in the third period as Clay County came out the the break hot. With eight minutes left to play, Hazard still clung to the lead (52-49).
The Tigers slowed the pace in the fourth quarter in an attempt to get back in the game. The Bulldogs, however, were able to keep one step ahead down the stretch, pulling out the 62-61 victory.
