The Buckhorn Wildcats opened their quest for the 14th region All “A” title with the June Buchanan Crusaders. The Wildcats got off to a good start, and handily defeated the Crusaders 87-41.
Both teams opened the game well, but as the first period wore on, Buckhorn began to take control of the tempo. The Wildcats finished with a flurry, and at the horn, they were up 21-14.
Buckhorn carried the momentum over into the second period, and quickly went up by double-digits. The Wildcats finished the half strong, and went into the locker room with the 38-19 advantage.
The Wildcats blew the game open in the third period, more than doubling up on the Crusaders 69-26. Buckhorn cleared their bench for the final frame, allowing June Buchanan to put some points on the board. However, the Wildcats would keep a firm grip on the game, moving on in the tournament with the 87-41 win.
