On Saturday, the Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Anderson County to take on the Bearcats. The Commodores built a small lead in the first half, and held off a late charge by the Bearcats to take the 81-74 win.
Perry Central’s defense led the way in the first half, spotting them to the 21-13 lead. Despite a rally by the Bearcats in the second half, the Commodores managed to go into the locker room with the 40-29 advantage.
Anderson County came out of the break ready to play, and quickly began to cut into the Commodores’ lead. Perry Central managed to keep part of the lead for the final period as they were up 59-54 at the horn.
Things tightened up in the fourth quarter as the Bearcats made a solid run at the Commodores. However, Perry Central was able to keep their composure in the closing minutes, and held on for the 81-74 win.
