Lady Bulldogs exit All “A” early

Tony McGuire | Hazard Herald Hazard’s Destiny Walker had 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the Lady Bulldogs 61-46 loss to Leslie County in the opening round of the All “A” tournament.


The Hazard Lady Bulldogs kicked off the 14th region All “A” this week with the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Eagles in the season opener 52-42. However, Leslie County would be able to turn the tables in this game, knocking Hazard out of the tournament with the 61-46 win.

The stats from the two games are similar except in two categories. Hazard shot better from behind the arc in the first game, and Leslie County took 13 more shots from the floor and 8 more from the free throw line in this game.

The two teams shot identical percentages (31%) from the floor, with Hazard holding the edge (36% to 14%) from behind the arc. The Lady Bulldogs also held the edge in rebounding 36 to 35.

Hazard (46) Simone Beverly 3 (3 rebounds), Libby Danner 1 (1 rebound), Cameran Howard 2 (4 rebounds), Kiara Walker 4 (7 rebounds), Hayley Caudill 11 (8 rebounds), Olivia Holland 11 (7 rebounds), Destiny Walker 14 (6 rebounds).
