On Tuesday, the Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Jackson to take on the Breathitt County Bobcats. The Bulldogs defeated the Bobcats 80-70 in their first meeting of the season.
Hazard got off to a slow start, and fell behind 28-20 in the first period. The Bulldogs got on track in the second period, and erased some of their deficit, but still went into the break trailing 37-34.
The game evened out in the third quarter with both teams taking a turn at the lead. Despite getting the better of the Bobcats in the period, the Bulldogs went into the final period trailing 55-54.
The momentum favored Hazard late in the fourth quarter, allowing them to take control of the game down the stretch. The Bulldogs would hold off a late rally by the Bobcats to take the 79-75 win.
