The Chavies Cardinals and the Robinson Bluejays hit the floor in the semifinals of the 6th grade county tournament. The Cardinals set the tone early as they flew past the Bluejays early, and nested in the finals with a 44-25 win.
Chavies left little doubt as to the outcome of the game when they posted a 17-0 lead at the end of the first period. Robinson eventually got on the board in the second period, but could not work their way back into the game. Going into the locker room, the Cardinals held the 29-11 advantage.
The clock was set in motion early in the second half, allowing little time for Robinson to work their way back into the game. The Cardinals led 36-17 at the end of the third period, and went on to win 44-25, putting them in the title game.
