Last week, the Buckhorn Wildcats celebrated senior night by hosting the Oneida Baptist Mountaineers. The Wildcats came out strong, built a large lead, and rolled to the 88-73 win.
The game was wild and furious in the first quarter. With a couple of minutes left in the frame, Buckhorn held the 25-24 lead. The Wildcats then went on a 13-0 run, and held the 38-24 lead at the horn.
The pace cooled a little in the second period, and scoring dropped off. However, the Wildcats would add to their lead, and went into the locker room with the 61-35 advantage.
The Mountaineers picked up the pace in the third period, but could not erase any of their deficit. The Wildcats posted the 81-51 lead at the end of the third period.
Buckhorn went deep into their bench to close out the game, allowing Oneida Baptist to shave a few points off the lead. The Wildcat win was never in jeopardy as they went on to win the game by the final count of 88-73.
