On Tuesday, the Perry County Central soccer team traveled to Prestonsburg to take on the Blackcats. The Commodores opened a small lead in the early minutes, and never looked back as they rolled to the 5-1 win.
Just a few minutes into the game, Jacob Farris took a pass from Zac Combs and hit the upper corner (1-0). A couple of minutes later, the Commodores struck again. This time Chad Smith was able to put a penalty kick away (2-0).
Perry Central was not done with their first half scoring as Travis Dunn tracked down a deflection off the Prestonsburg goalie. Dunn was able to head the ball into the back of the net for the 3-0 halftime score.
The Commodores went up 4-0 early in the second half. Again, Zac Combs was able to assist Jacob Farris in a goal. Farris took a high pass out of the air, and inched it past the goalie.
Prestonsburg broke the ice midway through the half with a long shot. However, Perry Central would quickly erases the goal, and went up 5-1. Cody Gayheart chipped a ball in the box where Tate Wyrick took the goalie one-on-one.
The Commodores remained undefeated on the season with the 5-1 win.
