On Friday, the Hazard Bulldog baseball team traveled to Lee County to take on the Jackson City Tigers in the championship game of the 14th region All “A” tournament. The Bulldogs held their opponents scoreless throughout the tournament, and finished off the Tigers 10-0 to keep the streak alive, earning them a trip to the state round of 16.
Hazard kicked off the game with a trio of runs in the first inning, and then followed it up with a five run third inning (8-0). The Bulldogs’ defense stranded several Tiger runners over the time, sending Hazard to the fifth inning needing two runs to end the game.
Hazard’s Trajon Campbell started the rally with an inside-the-park home run (9-0). Andy Baker later crossed the plate, ending the game with a 10-0 score.
Bailey Blair got the win on the mound, throwing a no-hitter (5 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 6 strikeouts and 5 walks).
