Last week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Montgomery County to take on the Lady Indians. The Lady Commodores took the lead midway through the contest, and held off a late rally to down the Lady Indians 5-4.
Montgomery County got on the board first with a pair of runs in the first inning. Perry Central began to chip away at the lead in the third inning (1-2), and eventually took the 5-2 lead in the fifth inning.
The Lady Indians tried to pull off the comeback, plating a run in the six and seventh innings. However, it left them one run shy of the Lady Commodores (5-4).
Lauren Amburgey got the win on the mound (7 innings, 10 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts).
