On Thursday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodore volleyball team hosted the Hazard Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Commodores lost all their starting line up from last season, while the Lady Bulldogs lost 5 of 6 starters. Going into the contest, neither team knew what to expect from the other.
Hazard jumped out to a big lead in the first game, going up 12-4. The Lady Bulldogs continued to keep the pressure on, and went up 21-14.
Perry Central then started to make their move, and worked their way back to 21-20. Hazard would quickly turn things around and went on to finish off the game 25-22.
In the second game, the Lady Bulldogs once again built a seemingly insurmountable lead. But, once again, the Lady Commodores made a strong rally late.
Hazard not wanting to see another comeback bid, quickly called time out to stop the momentum. The Lady Bulldogs rolled in the latter portion of the contest, and went up 2-0 with the 25-12 win.
The Lady Commodores had their backs against the wall in game three, and came out firing. They managed to keep pace for a little while, but in the end, it would be too much Lady Bulldog as they swept the night 3-0.
