Last week, the Perry County Central Commodore soccer team played a pair of games on the road, traveling to Letcher Central and Jackson City. At the end of the week, the Commodores went 2-0, and remained undefeated on the season (7-0).
Game one was played at Letcher Central as Perry Central went for win number six. The Commodores got on the board first, and pushed the tempo to a dizzying pace.
As the Commodores’ lead grew, the defense also picked up the intensity. Perry Central finished the game with the 5-1 win, keeping them undefeated on the season (6-0).
Five Commodores picked up goals in the game as Zac Combs, Jacob Farris, Cody Gayheart, Chad Smith and John Watts had single goals. Brecken Harvey notched a pair of assists, while Zac Combs added another.
Perry Central closed out their week at Jackson City where they took on the Tigers. Again, the Commodores’ offense was on point, while their defense stood strong.
For the second game in a row, the Commodores struck with five goals. However, the defense let down a bit late, allowing their opponent to score a pair of goals.
The 5-2 win pushed Perry Central’s record to 2-0 on the week, and 7-0 on the season.
