Perry needs an extra frame to topple Breathitt

Last week, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Jackson to take on the Breathitt County Lady Bobcats. The Lady Commodores struggled to put runs on the board in this contest, and had to rely on an extra inning rally to pull of the 5-3 run.

All the early offense belong to the Lady Bobcats in this game. Breathitt County scored two runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth to take the 3-0 lead.

Perry Central rallied for three runs in the seventh inning, and held off a rally by Breathitt County in the bottom of the frame to force another inning.

The Lady Commodores forced two runs across the plate in the eighth inning, and put the fate of the game in the hands of their defense. The defense stood strong, handing Perry Central the 5-3 win.

Lauren Amburgey went 8 innings, with 14 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
