On Thursday, the Perry Central Commodore soccer team hosted their final district game of the season as they welcomed in the Hazard Bulldogs. The game followed the previous patterns as Hazard was content to settle back in their defense, and kept the game close down the stretch. Perry Central was able to get a late goal to take the 1-0 win, and a sweep of the district.
Despite several good looks at the goal in the first half, Perry Central was unable to slip a ball past the Hazard defense. Going into the half, the game was tied at zero.
Little changed in the second half, with the exception that the Commodores were able to get a ball past the Bulldog defense. Travis Dunn made good on a one-on-one attempt to spot Perry Central to the 1-0 lead.
The one goal would be enough to give the Commodores the win. Perry Central remained perfect on the season at 13-0 win the win.
