HCTC's Greater Hazard Area Performing Arts Series (GHPAS) brings Rhythmic Circus "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" on Tuesday, October 26, at 7 p.m. to the HCTC First Federal Center.
Rhythmic Circus has quickly risen from an underground percussive-dance phenomenon to an innovative live performance company known for transforming their tap shoes into instruments of rhythm. Infusing their unique style of hard-hitting tap, high-spirited humor, and finger-snapping tunes, Rhythmic Circus satisfies their "rhythmic appetite" on everything from sand to folding chairs. The company's repute goes well beyond the sum of the dancers' talents; themed pieces include costume changes and musical segues highlighting the funky styling of a seven-piece band. The combined and highly integrated talents of the dancers and musicians alike have built a reputation for leaving audiences on their feet and dancing in the aisles! This unforgettable show is guaranteed to leave audiences of all ages amazed. Rhythmic Circus will also be presenting a school program and a master class.
Event sponsors are Kentucky River Properties LLC and Hazard-Perry County Tourism. Series sponsors are: ARH, City of Hazard, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hazard Lions Club, Peoples Bank & Trust Company, Perry Distributors, Inc., Pine Branch Coal Sales, and Whitaker Bank. The show is funded in part by a grant from the South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Kentucky Arts Council.
Admission: $15 adults, $8 students (age 6 - 18). Age 5 & under free.
