He was born in Kodak, the son of the late Arnold Colwell and the late Goldie Thomas Colwell. He was a lifelong resident of Perry County and was a member of the Kodak Church of the True Living God.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Colwell of Vicco; son Mark Colwell and wife Wanda of Vicco; brother Cooley Colwell and wife Glad of Vicco; grandchildren Jason Kyle Colwell and Andrew Tyler Colwell; nephew Craig Colwell; great nephew Dereck Colwell; special cousins Danny and Dwayne Raleigh along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 9 at 1 p.m. at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Manuel Grace officiating. Interment will follow in the Bailey Cemetery located at Kodak. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
