Wildcats score first win in shoot-out

On Wednesday, the Buckhorn Wildcats played in the semifinals of the consolation round of the Playground Area Shoot-out. The Wildcats took on the Sullivan Central Cougars out of Tennessee.
Buckhorn got off to a slow start in the first quarter, and began to fall behind. At the end of the first period, the Cougars were on top 13-9.
The Wildcats were able to turn the tables on the Cougars in the second period while making up some ground. Buckhorn managed a slim lead at the break, going into the locker room with the 20-18 lead.
The Wildcat defense set the tone in the third period, as they held the Cougars to a single field goal in the frame. Going into the final eight minutes, Buckhorn was on top 32-21.
The pace picked up in the fourth quarter, with Buckhorn continuing to control the tempo. The Wildcats were able to hold on for the 49-35 win.
