Commodores stage comeback on Breathitt

Early in the week, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Breathitt County Bobcats. The Bobcats looked to be in control of the contest, until the Commodores staged a fifth inning comeback.

Perry Central went up 2-1 in the first inning. Connor Hurt and Kevin Smith each scored a run after picking up singles (Derrick Luttrell had an RBI).

The two teams exchanged blows in the second inning, with the Commodores getting the 4-3 better end (6-4). After Nathan Pray and Brandon Kilburn received walks, Devin Turner was able to bring both home with a double. Connor Hurt and Derrick Luttrell each picked up a RBI in the frame.

Breathitt went on top 9-7 in the third inning after outscoring Perry Central 5-1 in the frame. The Commodores chip another run off the lead in the fourth (9-8) after Connor Hurt picked up his second RBI of the game (Devin Turner collected his fourth in the previous inning).

The big blow came in the fifth inning as the Commodores would cross the plate seven times. The rally concluded with back-to-back hits by Evan Hurt and Nathan Pray, both of which notched a pair of RBIs. The Commodores held on down the stretch, and collected the 15-9 win.
