He was the son of Pearlie Combs and the late James Combs. He was also preceded in death by his brother, DC Combs, and three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Combs; daughters Teresa Lynn Ford and Jacqueline Combs; sons Jimmy Ray Combs and Billy Eugene Combs; sisters Jo Ray, Judy Combs, Lois Caudill and Pat Caudill; brothers Ray Combs, OK Combs, Junior Combs, Darrell Combs and Gary Combs, along with 11 grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 with Travis France officiating. Interment will be at Noble Cemetery in Chavies.
