Deisha White, 42, of Dice, is facing charges of second-degree assault and second-degree burglary. According to the indictment, White is charged with stabbing a woman identified as Anna Lee Stacy with a knife. Both charges are Class C felonies and include a maximum term in prison of 10 years each. Bail was set at $100,000 cash.
Several people were also indicted this month on drug related charges, including 27-year-old Natasha Jones, of Fisty, who is facing charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor theft and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Jones is accused of illegally possessing methadone and stealing merchandise from the Hazard Walmart on February 28. Bail was set at $30,000.
Melissa Dawn Miller, 36, of Ary, was indicted on one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree promoting contraband, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor theft.
Allegations against her include that she illegally possessed oxycodone and alprazolam and attempted to introduce controlled substances into the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard on March 2. She also allegedly stole items from Walmart on the same day. Bail was set at $30,000.
Edna J. Chapman, 27, of Bulan, is facing charges of first, second and third-degree possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting contraband for allegedly possessing oxycodone, hydrocodone and alprazolam and attempting to introduce drugs into the jail on September 20, 2010. Bail was set at $25,000.
Dustin Coots, 47, of Viper, is charged with one count each of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree promoting contraband and misdemeanor theft. He is accused of stealing merchandise from the Hazard K-Mart in November 2010, and also illegally possessing methadone and attempting to bring the drug into the Hazard jail during the same time period. Bail was set at $25,000.
Darwin P. Whitaker, 44, of Hazard, was indicted on charges of first and third-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing cocaine and alprazolam on January 4 of this year. Bail was set at $20,000.
Brian Smith, 34, of Hazard, was indicted on charges of first and third-degree possession of a controlled substance and one count of receiving stolen property over $500. Smith is alleged to have illegally possessed oxycodone and alprazolam on January 25. He is also accused of receiving stolen drugs on the same day. Bail was set at $25,000.
Ronald Slover, Jr., 33, of Hazard, is facing charges of first, second and third-degree possession of controlled substance, and one count of public intoxication. Slover allegedly possessed methadone, hydrocodone and alprazolam on February 1. Bail was set at $30,000.
Perry I. Combs, 44, of Avawam, was indicted on charges of first and third-degree possession of a controlled substance, DUI second offense, failure to maintain insurance, failure to produce an insurance card and failure to wear seat belts. He allegedly possessed oxycodone and alprazolam on August 9, 2010. Bail was set at $30,000.
Twelve additional defendants were indicted on charges ranging from theft to feeing police.
Teresa Carr, 44, of Hazard, and Gina Williams, 20, also of Hazard, were indicted on one count of theft of identity for allegedly obtaining telephone service from Windstream using the personal information of another person from August through December 2010. Carr was additionally indicted on one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. Bail for both women was set at $30,000.
Tiffany Wagers, 21, and Cody Wagers, 22, both of Jackson were indicted on two counts each of theft by deception over $500 and eight counts of theft by deception under $500, the latter being a misdemeanor charge.
According to the indictment, the defendants purchased merchandise from several business in Hazard, include Lowe’s and Factory Connection, with a forged check in various amounts. Bail was set at $7,500.
James Turner, 38, of Lexington, and Meardie Stidham, 34, of Winchester, are each facing charges of theft by unlawful taking over $500 and second-degree fleeing or evading police for allegedly stealing a furnace and compressor from Appalachian Heating and Cooling on March 12. Bail was set at $25,000.
Killis Jones, 33, of Scuddy, was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500 for allegedly stealing an ATV in April 2010. Bail was set at $20,000.
Richard Noble, Jr., 27, of Hazard, is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, third-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree fleeing or evading police, third-degree escape, resisting arrest, menacing and second-degree persistent felony offender.
According to the indictment, Noble was alleged to have stolen an International truck on March 28 of this year. He is also alleged to have kicked and punched two state troopers who were attempting to arrest him, and also damaged a vehicle and state police property as well. He gained an escape charge after police said he escaped their custody after he was placed under arrest. Bail was set at $100,000.
Shane Hale, 26, of Jackson, was indicted on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, driving on a DUI suspended license, DUI third offense, and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Hale allegedly stole an ambulance belonging to the Perry County Ambulance Authority on March 4, and operated the vehicle while under the influence. Bail was set at $50,000.
Lillo D. Howard, 35, of Chavies was indicted on charges of receiving stolen property over $10,000 for allegedly receiving a stolen race car engine on February 6. Bail was set at $30,000.
Ray J. Couch, 31, of Yerkes is facing charges of driving on a DUI suspended license third offense, giving a police officer a false name or address, failure to maintain insurance, failure to produce insurance card, failure to give proper turn signal, failure to wear seat belts, reckless driving and no registration receipt. Bail was set at $25,000.
Jason Randall Campbell, 33, of Hazard, was indicted on charges of first-degree burglary and second-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, during the course of an alleged burglary in March, Campbell became armed with a firearm. Bail was set at $75,000.
