Hazard got on the board first with a pair of runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs got back-to-back hits from Taylor Pulliam and Corey Slone. Slone’s double plated Pulliam while Slone would come around to score on an error.
Shelby Valley cut the lead in half in the bottom of the frame, scoring a run on a lead off hit. Hazard promptly erased the run with one of their own in the second inning. Victor Jewell scored the run after getting aboard with an error. Austin Johnson brought Jewell around with a single (3-1).
Three Bulldogs would touch the dish in the third inning. Taylor Pulliam, Corey Slone and Jordan Olinger connected on consecutive hits, and all three would score (6-1).
The lead would grow to 7-1 after Austin Johnson scored in the fourth inning. Johnson got aboard with a single, and scored on a Taylor Pulliam single.
The Wildcats scored a single run in the fifth, and had the Bulldogs erase it in the sixth inning. Jacob Roll (1B), Victor Jewell (E5) and J. T. Haynes would all score in the sixth inning. Taylor Pulliam collected a pair of RBI with a single, and Austin Nidiffer accounted for the other run with his ground out (10-2).
Shelby Valley would score a run in the bottom of the sixth inning, but would not be able to rally in the seventh. Hazard went on to win the contest by the final score of 10-3.
