On Friday, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Allen Central Rebels. The Commodores fell behind early, but rallied to take the lead. They then had to hold off a late rally by the Rebels to secure the win.

The Commodores started the game a little shaky, giving the Rebels three runs in the top of the first inning. Perry Central pulled to within one run in the bottom of the inning (3-2) with a pair of runs.

Perry Central put together a strong rally early in the second inning as they loaded the bases. It took but one swing of Kevin Smith’s bat to put the Commodores in the lead as he deposited a pitch over the centerfield fence for a grand slam. Perry would lead 7-3 at the end of the frame.

The Rebels got their next run in the fourth inning, bringing the tally to 7-4. The Commodores would answer with two in the bottom of the frame (9-4), and then settle in for the upcoming assault.

Allen Central would plate four runs in the sixth inning, bringing them to within a single run (9-8), with one inning to go. Perry Central was able to shut down the Rebels in the seventh, and collected the win.
