HARLAN – Officials on Wednesday released the identity of a miner killed during an accident at a Harlan County mine this week.

David A. Partin, 49, of Pineville, was working as a continuous belt worker at the Manalapan P1 mine in the Pathfork community at approximately 11:50 a.m. when he was killed in an apparent roof fall, according to a press released from Kentucky Office of Mine Safety and Licensing.

The mine is currently closed as authorities continue their investigation.
