"This is another way low-income homeowners can have a decent place to live."
After applying competitively for the funds from Kentucky Housing Corporation, HDA was awarded $125,000. The funding offers flexibility and increase the amount of repairs to be done for low-income homeowners. Doll explains further, "The Affordable Housing Trust Fund allows us to stretch the repairs we can do with our volunteer program. By combining professional carpenters with volunteers, the Housing Development Alliance is able to guarantee quality repairs while keeping the cost to the homeowner as affordable as possible."
The Housing Development Alliance is a community-based nonprofit organization, offering affordable new homes, home repairs, and rental units for low- and very low-income residents in Hazard and Perry County.
