Sacred Winds Ensemble prepares for June concert

The Sacred Winds Ensemble, under the direction of G. Scott Bersaglia, will present its ninth annual Summer Concert on June. One of the many highlights will be the world premiere of two works for wind ensemble.
Kentucky native Barry Milner has been commissioned to set Christopher Rice's Untitled Hymn for soprano solo, solo violin, and woodwind choir. Also premiering is John Vander Gheynst?s fanfare for brass and percussion based from the Doxology.
Since its inception in 2000, The Sacred Winds Ensemble Commissioning Project has commissioned twelve works for wind ensemble, each of which received its world premiere in Hazard, KY. The concert is June 5 and will begin at 2:30pm at The First Federal Center on the campus of the Hazard Community and Technical College. Admission is free and all are invited.
